Glyphs

How to acquire them

When a cleric learns the Glyph of Warding spell, that cleric will learn a standard Spell Glyph (per PH), which allows the cleric to charge the glyph with a spell up to 3rd level. The cleric will also learn one of the special glyphs from this list. Thereafter, the diety will give the cleric one additional glyph from this list every level.

A cleric may also learn one additional Glyph per level from another cleric of 9th level or higher. The two clerics must sequester themselves for a period of not less than 8 hours, without interruption, during which time they must pray & meditate. At the end of this 8 hours, the cleric learning the Glyph must make a Wisdom Check (DC 10). If he succeeds, he learns the Glyph; if he fails, he may not attempt to learn that Glyph until acheiving another level.

The Glyph received from the deity each level is chosen by the DM, and the cleric should not receive a duplicate-function Glyph from his deity (i.e. only one electrical, one fire, etc.).

Unless otherwise noted:
    Damaging Glyphs do 1d4 dmg per level of the Spell Caster.
    If the Glyph has a Reflex Saving Throw, the creature touching the Glyph can not use their Evasion or Improved Evasion ability, but those in the blast area can.
    Some Glyphs can only be cast by clerics of a certain level or higher, these are indicated by the line: Min 9th.
    Some Glyphs can only be cast as Greater Glyph.

The glyphs in this list can be bypassed by those knowing their name, so the names are kept secret by clerics. Possession of this list does not give the player access to the names, it for convenience only. Player Characters must keep individualized lists of glyph names that they know.
